About Johanna (she/her)

I am a licensed professional counselor who believes that every client is unique and strives to create a working atmosphere of collaboration, problem-solving, and acceptance.  Before joining Magnolia Counseling of Pearland, I was working as a therapist at a behavioral hospital in the Houston area, specifically with children and adolescents.  As such, I have a strong handle on collaborative treatment with medication management and can appreciate the decision on whether or not to involve medication.  I utilize a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Solutions Focused Therapy to help those who come from a wide variety of backgrounds make the changes they need.

I have been married since April of 2020 (a Zoom ceremony, no less!), and my partner and I have two dogs and a cat, all rescues.  We enjoy a variety of fun activities from skiing and hiking, to movie nights and video games.

About Catherina

I am a passionate Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Dance and Movement Therapist. I have worked in schools, community agencies and outpatient settings for more than 10 years. I provide therapeutic support to children/ adolescents, individual adults and families. I utilize techniques from several theoretical perspectives, including wrap-around treatment model and person-centered care, with consideration of environmental influences on a social, cultural and generational level.

My work is solution focused and trauma informed, implementing behavioral analysis and behavior modification with considerations of early childhood and human development. My therapeutic practice includes expressive arts and dance and movement therapy to help uncover underlying causes and gain better awareness and insight for long-term change.

With compassion and understanding in my work with individuals and families, the focus is to assist you in identifying your patterns of interaction and underlying feelings/thoughts that drive those behaviors. We then move on to constructively learn how to effectively express those feelings to improve your interpersonal relationships
